Identity

Visit Manchester

'This is the Now' is not about heritage or legacy. Manchester's music scene is no longer reliant on the past. We created a strong, rigid yet eratic identity for Visit Manchester's music flagship site. Collaborating with digital agency Cahoona a site was produced that celebrates the 6 city music festivals in Spring, whilst also focussing on accomodation and travel. Visit the site

Muso

Classical music magazine Muso were looking for a new, contemporary design that would reflect the editorial content's diversity. "Young successfully created a fresh, clean look that was in line with the brand and instantly lifted the aesthetic of the publication. I am delighted with the result" Editor Claire Jackson said.

Cube Gallery

Architecture gallery, Cube, needed an interior and exterior rebrand, as well as a lick of paint. This typographic treatment based on urban buildings spreads across signage, motion, print and clothing. The Gallery now flourishes as one of the city's prominent contemporary art and design gallery's.

Millstone

Traditional brewery Millstone asked us to brand a new limited edition range of 12 ales - to be released monthly. We lovingly hand crafted the unique illustrations in-house, paying respect to their traditional methods, processes, and values.

Neon

Flourishing London PR agency Neon needed a fun, vibrant identity to match their growing client base in the entertainment and events sector. We produced an original typographic mark, subtley referencing neon signs staying clear of a tacky pastiche, and rolled this out in print and screen. "Our new identity has been extremely well recieved, Young were the second company to to design for us and the difference in creativity was phenomenal. We are now constantly complimented on our branding. If the opportunity comes up, we use Young for our own clients as their work is always sure to impress" MD David Farrer.

Comixed

As part of the manchester science festival, the comixed event brought together leading experts/speakers aswell as people in the community to discuss relevant world issues. We created an identity for the debates and then produced a comic for each issue discussed. Based on the actual discussion points, the comics were used as an accessable commentary and record of the event.

Oh Productions

OH Productions create innovative, inspiring experiences for adventurous music fans. They wanted a simple and iconic mark/identity that would sit well with the wide range of genres they promote. The identity was rolled out across print and screen. "Our identity needed to reflect the aspirations we have as an agency, Young have given us a visual brand that we can grow with" commented MD Chris Horkan.

Lifeline

Drugs charity Lifeline do not shy away from the 'truth about drugs', and havent for 40 years. We have been lucky enough to work for this brand, on a range of illustration and branding projects. Director of Communications at Lifeline publications said "I'd say one thing about working with Young. It is really nice working with people who are genuinely creative."

V & A

Quirky illustration created for a night of live animation at the V & A Museum. Inspired by the historical masks and traditions on display we were able to have some fun with this mish mash of cultures.

Manchester Blog Awards

As part of the Manchester literature Festival, the blog awards had in previous incarnations not commanded the importance it warrants, tending to be low key and unexciting. We gave the awards set a vibrant and fun aesthetic, helping to define itself and interest more bloggers to take part. This bold and simple visual identity elevated its importance whilst keeping it fun.

This Weeks Gold

DJ Collective This Weeks Gold blend vintage with the new. With this promo we responded to their style giving them an aesthetic that has its routes in calligraphy whilst still feeling relevant.

Hey

Manchester based promoters Hey! asked us to develop an aesthetic for their promotional material. With a limited budget the printed material makes use of different coloured stocks, keeping the printing costs to a minimum. This project is featured in the Rotovision publication 'Graphic Design for Less", highlighting the best of design produced on a limited budget.

Murray Chalmers

Murray Chalmers PR are one the leading agencies in the arts sector, looking after the John Lennon estate, Yoko Ono, and Radioheads press. They wanted an identity that would reflect the unique client base they command. We created a set of bespoke rubber stamps for all stationary and printed matter. The logo mark is subtley inspired visually by musical scores and limited edition art prints, in addition, a bespoke original typeface was created.
